The possibility of Quintin Demps' departure via free agency has been overshadowed by A.J. Bouye's situation, but your Houston Texans are now officially in need of a starting safety as Demps got the multi-year deal he wanted with the Bears.

Good for Demps. He had a very nice 2016 that saw him win AFC Defensive Player of the Month at one point, and I applaud him for cashing in. There's way to know how much the Texans did to keep Demps around, but I imagine it's fair to surmise they never approached the kind of security the Bears offered. All the best to Demps as he continues his career in the Windy City.
UPDATE: Demps thanked Texans fans through Mark Berman.
