The Houston Texans have been incredibly quiet this offseason, and it also appears that they have done what they can to keep their research on quarterback candidates in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft as secret as possible. In this day and age, however, everything eventually gets leaked.
Earlier it was discovered (and announced) that Houston would be hosting Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson for two days this week. Did you know that Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes was already meeting with the Texans tonight and through tomorrow? Now you do!

Aaron Wilson of Chron.com included this in his article linked in that tweet:
Playing in a freewheeling spread offense, Mahomes' improvisational skills flourished. He passed for 5,052 yards, 41 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season.
Mahomes completed 65.7 percent of his throws. He has the strongest arm of any quarterback prospect, per scouts, and has rushed for 22 touchdowns over the past three seasons.
He has 18 total visits and private workouts, including workouts for the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals (team president Michael Bidwell and coach Bruce Arians), New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, Buffalo Bills (owner Terry Pegula, coach Sean McDermott, general manager Doug Whaley), Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets and has visited the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I spent some time this weekend watching interviews of the top quarterback candidates in this draft, and I have to admit that Jon Gruden’s session with Mahomes has me now very intrigued on him as a prospect.
Take a look:
Mahomes may just have the best overall balance of competitiveness, leadership ability, football knowledge, arm strength and athleticism to lead an NFL team some day. Will it be for the Houston Texans?
