The greatest player in Houston Texans history will officially retire in steel blue, battle red, and liberty white on Wednesday afternoon.
#Texans will sign Andre Johnson (@Johnson80) to a one-day contract so that he can officially retire as a member of the Texans organization.

Andre Johnson spent twelve seasons in Houston and was one of the most prolific wide receivers of his pass-happy generation. Without question, ‘Dre was the lone light on this team during many dark, dark years for the Texans in the mid-2000s. Thanking him with a proper retirement and celebration at his true football home is the least this organization could do for him.
I would expect a statue in his likeness to be erected outside NRG Stadium any day now. He certainly earned it.
