With the 130th overall pick, your Houston Texans selected Julie’n Davenport (OT—Bucknell). With their fourth pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Texans have finally added the offensive lineman many fans were clamoring for.
Davenport is a mountain of a man who Lance Zierlein described as a “raw tackle lacking in technique but long on physical traits” in his pre-draft scouting report. The thinking seems to be that Davenport is unlikely to be ready to contribute on an NFL offensive line in 2017, but he has the tools to become a part of the Texans’ offensive line in 2018 and beyond.
What are your views on this pick? Is this the direction you wanted Rick Smith to go in the fourth round?
