The Houston Texans have made their fifth round selection of the 2017 NFL Draft, choosing Treston Decoud (CB—Oregon State).
At 6’1 7/8” and 206lbs, Decoud clocked a 4.62 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. That combination of size and speed may make him a candidate to play safety if Mike Vrabel so desires.
Decoud racked up 58 tackles and 2 picks in 2016 in 12 games. The Louisiana native started 22 games for the Beavers during his career.
He comes in as a bit of a project, but has great burst, instincts and a nose for the ball. Expect to see him contributing on special teams right away and adding depth in the secondary down the stretch. Check out some film on him here:
