It’s been a long and interesting week, boys and girls. On Tuesday, I handed in 69 (heh) pages worth of a dissertation that I spent the past 8 months slaving over (which led to a rapid decrease in my grooming standards and a rapid increase in the thickness of my neckbeard). Just last night, I attended “the largest private party in Europe,” which is a bit of an oxymoron, considering about 8,000 or so people attend it each year. Regardless, if you are still of college age and have a suit that you are prepared to sacrifice in order to have a good time and you’re the kind of person who would use the word ‘‘banter’’ to describe a good night out, by all means the Trinity Ball is totally a bucket list item.
If you’re not in the mood for that, there’s Elbow’s recently released Little Fictions, which is another solid addition to a long line of excellent Elbow records. Gentle Storm in particular harks back to some of the love obsessed themes from previous songs like Great Expectations and Station Approach.
