Thank you, Shea Serrano.

NFL: 2017 NFL Draft
We have hope again.
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans fans—really, sports fans in general—know Shea Serrano. He is one of us, only far funnier, and with a well deserved platform to spread his unique brand of humor and analysis. His latest piece for The Ringer, aptly titled “We’re Already Planning the Texans’ Super Bowl Parade,” perfectly encapsulates how and why Texans fans rooted for Brock Osweiler despite all the evidence indicating things weren’t going to end as we dreamed they would, as well as the hope we all have for Deshaun Watson, no matter the worries we might have about the Texans’ prospects for success in 2017.

I mean, tell me this doesn’t hit the nail on the head when it comes to the excitement Texans fans have about our new quarterback in the face of questions about his transition to the NFL, Bill O’Brien, and an improved AFC South:

The thing of it is, though, none of that matters right now. Telling me I should be worried about that stuff is like if I was homeless and you gave me a car and then were like, “Sometimes the windows won’t go down, and also there’s a tiny rattling sound when you get it above 80 miles per hour.” I’m just happy I don’t have to walk everywhere anymore, is what I’m saying.

Please, do yourself a favor and go read the article. It’s tremendous.
