A week ago, we learned that the Texans gave permission for the Bills to interview Houston’s Director of Pro Player Personnel, Brian Gaine, for their vacant general manager position. Yesterday afternoon, we found out that the Bills chose to fill that position with someone not named Brian Gaine.
As detailed in that post from Buffalo Rumblings, the Bills’ new general manager had a unique advantage over Gaine, as he’d worked with Buffalo’s new head coach before and had even served as interim general manager for a period of time in Carolina. From that perspective, it makes sense Brandon Beane would get the nod over Brian Gaine.
Gaine’s time is coming, though; he’s frequently mentioned as a future GM. For now, Texans fans can enjoy front office continuity for another season.
