The Texans’ rookie signing spree continues with the addition of perhaps the most important member of their draft haul. Per John McClain:
Texans signed QB Deshaun Watson and ILB Zach Cunningham, their first- and second-round picks. Also CB Treston Decoud (5th).

The Texans have signed their first round pick and presumptive QB of the future in Deshaun Watson just as Houston’s rookie mini-camp is set to begin. Watson was led Clemson to the National Championship last season, along with winning the Davey O’Brien as the best QB in college football twice. If you haven’t already, go read Matt Weston’s breakdown so you can remain sufficiently pumped about Deshaun Watson being a member of the Houston Texans.
The Texans also added ILB Zach Cunningham to their already stacked defense and Oregon State’s Treston DeCoud to round out their singing spree for the morning. All that remains to be signed from this year’s drafted rookie class is Texas RB D’Onta Foreman, who was the Texans’ third round pick.
Are you pleased by the efficient way in which the Texans’ front office has conducted their business?
UPDATE: The terms of Watson and Cunningham’s contracts are now public.
Texans QB Deshaun Watson's 4-year deal worth $13.8 mil, $8.21 signing bonus. ILB Zach Cunningham gets $4.47 mil with $1.39 signing bonus.
