Saturday Night’s Alright For Commenting: June 3, 2017

We’ve made it through another month without real, live Texans football. We’re spending our Saturday nights together because no one else understands our fanaticism.

NFL: Houston Texans-OTA
Meaningless football, but it means something to us.

Good evening, fellow Texans fans. We’ve made it through yet another week without genuine Texans football, so the season is now less than 100 days until It’s Football Time in Houston! (Cue absolutely awful Clay Walker song in your mind; you’re welcome).

Even though the season remains months away, the team has still been busy with OTAs, interviews, and charitable deeds. This week, we’ve learned that Nuk is taking on more of a leadership role with the team, that Clowney Comin’ does impress folks across the NFL, and that OB’s butt chin is even more prominent when on NFL Network.

We know that there are other things going on around the world. For example, the French Open is being played and John Isner is flying the flag for America, the Warriors and Cavs are playing for the trophy for the third year in a row, the Stanley Cup Finals are going on, and Kyle Busch has upset some people with his press conference behavior. Oh, and the best team in baseball is playing the Rangers in Arlington this weekend as well.

There’s non-sports things happening, too. A 12-year-old Californian won the Spelling Bee with a word I’m sure many of us would struggle with.

It’s the weekend, and it finally feels like summer (thankfully?), so what are your plans for the rest of this fine weekend? Any recipes we should know about? Any movies, music, or books you think we need to be more informed on? Any home brew, backyard chickens, or baby goats in pajamas you think we should learn all about? This is your open thread, where just about anything goes. Enjoy!
