NFL Game Capsule (Week Two) Texans-Bengals

NFL Communications sheds light on the Thursday Night Football Texans-Bengals matchup as each team attempts to secure their first win of the season after disappointing starts.

NFL Communications provided information about the Texans-Bengals history and matchup on Thursday.

TEXANS NOTES:

Tom Savage threw for 176 yards last time the teams played.

Deshaun Watson debuted and passed for 102 yards and a TD.

Lamar Miller ran for 129 yards against Cincinnati last time he played them. He has three straight seasons with over 1,250 scrimmage yards.

DeAndre Hopkins had the only Texans TD last week. Hopkins scored a TD in the last meeting at Cincinnati in the team’s last meeting at Paul Brown Stadium. He has 24 career receiving TDs, which is tied for third most in team history.

J.J. Watt took the field for the first time since Game 4 in 2016. Watt had a sack last time the two teams played in Cincinnati (11/16/15). He leads the league in sacks since 2011 with 76.

Jadeveon Clowney had a sack the last time the teams met. He led the team and ranked second in the AFC with 16 TFL.

Whitney Mercilus recorded three sacks and five TFL in the last two meetings.

Benardrick McKinney had nine tackles last week and was the only player to have more than 125 tackles and five sacks last year.

Johnathan Joseph played five years for the Bengals (2006-2010). He has twoi INTs in last three meetings.

Kareem Jackson has 13 career INTs, which is tied for most in team history.

BENGALS NOTES:

Andy Dalton threw for 268 yards and a TD in the last meeting. He is ranked fourth in AFC with 53 completions of 25+ yards last season. Dalton is from Katy, Texas.

Jeremy Hill has had 9+ rush TDs in the past three seasons. He is the only NFL player to do so.

Giovani Bernard rushed for 79 yards last week. He has had 146 yards total in his past 2 meetings versus Houston.

A.J. Green had 74 receiving yards last week and ranks second in team history with 7,209 career receiving yards.

Brandon LaFell had six catches for 130 yards and a TD in the last game against Houston.

Tyler Eifert has the most receiving TDs for a TE with 18.

Geno Atkins had one sack in the last meeting with the Texans. He had one sack and two TFL last game.

Carlos Dunlap forced a fumble in last meeting. He is the franchise leader with 57 career sacks.

Vincent Rey recorded 11 tackles and led the team last week.

Nick Vigil had his first career INT last week.
