2017 NFL Kickoff Live: Chiefs v. Patriots

The NFL season is finally here. The long months of endlessly pontificating over utterly meaningless topics in a vain attempt to keep football within our collective consciousness is hopefully over. There is actual, real, meaningful football being played this evening.

The Patriots and Chiefs kick off the season with a clash of two playoff team from last season. The Patriots have undergone a series of improvements during the offseason, acquiring WR Brandin Cooks from the Saints and CB Stephon Gilmore from the Bills. Per usual, they are helmed by the legendary head coach and quarterback duo of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

The Chiefs come into the season with a bit of strife at the QB position, with 2017 first round pick Patrick Mahomes waiting in the wings and incumbent starter Alex Smith holding the reigns for now. The Chiefs lost longtime star RB Jamaal Charles over the summer and were slated to replace him with Spencer Ware, but Ware tore his PCL. That means........BY GOD, THAT’S KAREEM HUNT’S MUSIC!
