2018 NFL Free Agency: Alfred Blue Re-Signs With Texans

Blue will be back for his fifth season with the team.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans have brought back RB Alfred Blue on a one-year deal.

Blue was drafted in the sixth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and his four-year rookie contract expired at the end of the 2017 season. He has made spot starts for the Texans over the past few years when Arian Foster or Lamar Miller has been injured. Blue was demoted to third-string when the Texans drafted D’Onta Foreman in the third round of last year’s draft.

When Foreman tore his Achilles, Blue returned to the backup role, but his touches were limited over the 2017 season, as he posted a career-low 262 rushing yards. The Texans seemed unsure on whether or not Blue would return in 2018 and perhaps considered looking for his replacement in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, the Texans did not draft a running back over the weekend, which likely prompted Blue re-signing with the team.

BRB, how do you feel about bringing Blue back?
