J.J. Watt hasn’t played a snap of football since going down against Kansas City on Sunday Night Football. Both him and Whitney Mercilus had their seasons come to an end in that no-good-awful-terrible football game. Since both their injuries, we haven’t heard much from either of them. Watt has been on the sidelines and in press booths. Mercilus hasn’t really been found anywhere, which is probably because the cameras just love Watt. Neither has spoken at length about their season-ending injuries.
Now that the Texans’ season has come to a close, Watt has finally opened up a bit about his injury. He says he is expected to be ready for training camp. See the tweets below from Mark Berman.
.@JJWatt: "I've been injured the last 2 years. Disappointed by it, but not going to let it define who I am. I'm looking forward to getting back to being even better than I was before." pic.twitter.com/3fxnDkzN6E

.@JJWatt: "Every day I come in here I'm excited. I can feel my leg getting stronger. I can feel myself getting stronger. I can see the guys around me getting stronger. I watch Deshaun work. All these guys work, Whitney. It gives you that motivation. That little climb day by day."

You are probably like me. We both were ready for next season as soon as Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in practice on November 2nd. Insurmountable injuries to key parts of this team were simply something the roster couldn’t overcome. Those injuries derailed this season, not poor performance and coaching.
And probably like me, you are ready for all this cold weather to end and see a fully healthy Texans squad in 2018.
