I’m happy and I’m sad at the same time. For one, I’m ecstatic the season is saved. At 2-3 and going up against one of the cupcake teams in the league, Houston should end up 3-3, and then we actually get an exciting important game again, TEXANS-JAGUARS. The AFC South apocalypse. It’s great Houston’s offense is super cool again and Romeo Crennel is back to running interesting blitzes to create interior pressure, and that after four years we are finally seeing J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney hold hands and dismantle offenses, limb by limb, like some Japanese horror story.
But, at the same time, I was so ready for the Bill O’Brien era to end. He has wasted enough of everyone’s lives. This team has underperformed compared to its talent level for too long. I’ve had enough of it. Instead, at 2-3 and a possible 3-3, things are interesting, and there’s no way he gets canned.
I’ll be watching the reclamation project continue at my house, on the big stinky couch, with the big girl dog and my brother. I’m going to stay up until four in the morning the night before to get a massive hangover so I can fully enjoy this game. It’s like reading William Faulkner in Mississippi, or The Blood Meridian in West Texas.
Anyways, those are my plans. What about you? What do you have going on? Are you going going to be a #witness and see Josh Allen in person? Will you go to church instead? Is there a big menu you are cooking up? Is an outside venue away from the house your final destination? Or are you getting sp00ky?
Whatever your plans, let us know in the Comments. If you’re still trying to figure out what you’re going to do, or if you’ll be a stranger in a strange land looking for somewhere to catch the game, pose any queries here; someone might have a suggestion for you. Similarly, if you’ve got a worthy spot staked out somewhere and want to clue fellow Texans fans in to it, please divulge that information in the Comments as well.
