Return of D'Onta Foreman key to Texans' matchup with the Eagles

The Houston Texans sport a very talented and productive rushing corps. Led by Lamar Miller, the Houston Texans rank 6th in the league in rushing yards per game. They average about 130.4 rushing yards a game. However, last Saturday, Lamar Miller injured his ankle early against the New York Jets. Lamar Miller, who has 917 yards on 193 carries on the season, has been the focal point for this Texans offense. Thus, it is critical that Miller gets healthier and into shape right in time for the postseason. Last Saturday, Alfred Blue lead most of the rushing side of the ball after Lamar Miller's injury. However, he was incredibly inefficient. He rushed for 6 yards on 9 carries. This inefficiency is the reason why the Texans can't lean on Blue as the leading running back for the last stretch of the season. Instead, the Texans were blessed with the news of the return of second-year running back, D'Onta Foreman. As a rookie last year, Foreman rushed for 327 yards on 78 carries and two touchdowns. He was incredible until he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Foreman has spent a long time in rehabilitation and should be featured on Sunday against the Eagles.

The Eagles are a very tough team. Coming off a win against the high-flying Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles have plenty of momentum and desire to clinch a playoff berth. The Texans will need to be at the top of their game in order to defeat the Eagles. The return of D'Onta Foreman will give the Texans a huge push. His elite rushing attack and receiving ability will be able to fill in Lamar Miller's holes. In addition, to the talent that he brings to the field, Foreman can also rejuvenate this Texans' rushing attack. Over the last couple of games, the Texans have been greatly inefficient since their Week 12 win against the Titans. Instead, Foreman can bring a fresh pair of feet that can easily improve the morale of the Texans' rushing attack which has been beaten up after its overuse and dependence. Foreman could give a jolt of energy to this rushing attack and make it efficient again.
