Woe is Andrew Luck. He deserves better than this.
Stunner: Patriots’ OC Josh McDaniels has decided NOT to accept Colts’ HC job and will remain with New England, sources told ESPN.

Yes, after a previous coaching search that included former Texans DC and current Titans coach Mike Vrabel settled on current Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, the Colts are back to square one. Prior to this change of heart, McDaniels had begun filling out his coaching staff with a number of additions who have already signed to become members of a Colts staff that will no longer have the same man in charge.
We mentioned earlier today that Colts had deals to hire Matt Eberflus (DC), Dave DeGuglielmo (OL coach) and Mike Phair (DL coach). Source says Indy plans to do right by them. They'll have jobs (if they want them), regardless of HC.

It’s like getting ditched at the altar and then having the Hunchback of Notre Dame offer to step in.
So the Colts begin their head coach search anew. At least they’ll have Andrew Luck ready for go for the new year...
FWIW: On Sunday, ESPN's @mortreport reported there still are doctors who have concerns about Andrew Luck's shoulder and whether he could wind up needing additional surgery.
