2018 NFL Free Agent Tracker: Updating Texans Signings And More

Follow the free agent signings and news live on Battle Red Blog.

Houston Texans v Arizona Cardinals
East Bernard’s finest is staying in Houston for at least one more year.

We’ve endured two days’ worth of permissible tampering and far longer in unfettered speculation, all in a steady build toward this afternoon. The 2019 NFL year has now started, and with it comes the ability of free agents to sign contracts with teams other than the one which employed them in 2017.

As I type this post before free agency opens, your Houston Texans have already agreed to bring back three players from their 2017 rosterShane Lechler, Corey Moore, and Ufomba Kamalu. They’ve also reportedly reached agreement with three players who weren’t Texans last year in Aaron Colvin, Seantrel Henderson, and Zach Fulton. Who else will join the party at NRG Park? What other players want to hitch their proverbial wagons to the frighteningly positive potential of Deshaun Watson & Co.?

This is your live tracker for NFL free agent signings. Add your two cents, either in the way of opinion or actual signings you see reported, in the space below. We’ll do our best to update this post as news breaks.

UPDATE: The Texans have added another offensive lineman who appears to have a legitimate chance to start. No, it wasn’t Nate Solder.

UPDATE II: Bruce Ellington will stay in Houston on a one-year deal.

UPDATE III: Tom Savage is headed to New Orleans on a one-year deal to presumably back up Drew Brees.

UPDATE IV: Will the Texans make a run at one of the Patriots’ other available offensive tackles? Should they?
