Top o’ the morning to you, Texans fans.

Today is St. Patrick’s Day. Consequently, this fine Saturday will be glorious. It’s science.

But can today, tremendous as it shall surely be, hold a candle to yesterday’s magnificence? Yes, the Texas Longhorns lost their first round NCAA Tournament game yesterday in agonizing fashion, and that undeniably disappointed.

Yet yesterday had far more dizzying highs than crushing lows.

Your Houston Texans signed an actual special teams playmaker.

Your Houston Astros signed Jose Altuve to a five-year extension that doesn’t go into effect until 2020.

Finally, not content to allow the World Series Champions to steal the show, the Texans and Tyrann Mathieu agreed to partner up in 2018.

To paraphrase Jim Valvano, that’s a heck of a day.

Can today be better? Why not? There’s only one way to find out.

This is your live tracker for NFL free agent signings on St. Patrick’s Day. Add your two cents, either in the way of opinion or actual signings you see reported, in the space below. We’ll do our best to update this post as news breaks.

UPDATE: This doesn’t really involve free agency, but it’s big news and good for the Colts, which is by definition a potential drag for the Texans.
