While the Texans may have the bright, shining beacon of excellence that is Deshaun Watson at QB right now, they are currently without a backup. Tom Savage has moved on to greener pastures and signed with the Saints, so just who is going to back up Watson this season? The Texans might be looking towards the 2018 NFL Draft to solve this conundrum, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports:
This is interesting: The #Texans hosted a private workout yesterday for #Louisville QB Lamar Jackson, source said. The team wants to be prepared for any and all scenarios on draft week… even the unlikely such as Jackson being available for them.

While Jackson isn’t expected to last anywhere near the Texans’ first pick in the third round, it is interesting to note that the Texans are looking for a QB who can offer the same kind of threat with his legs and arm that Deshaun Watson brings. What do you think of the Texans scouting Jackson? Do you think he would make a good backup QB in Houston or should the Texans be investing their resources elsewhere?
