The first round of the 2018 NFL Draft is in the books. Five quarterbacks came off the board, and we had the usual flurry of trades, not to mention several trades that took place in the weeks leading up to the draft.

Let’s go down a short list of some of the better prospects remaining on the board, in no particular order:

Will Hernandez - G - UTEP

James Daniels - C - Iowa

Harold Landry - DE/Edge - Boston College

Connor Williams - G - Texas

Josh Jackson - CB - Iowa

Nick Chubb - RB - Georgia

Derrius Guice - RB - LSU

Dallas Goedert - TE - South Dakota State

Courtland Sutton - WR - SMU

Justin Reid - Stanford - S

Christian Kirk - WR - Texas A&M

Austin Corbett - OG - Nevada

Ronnie Harrison - S - Alabama

Harrison Phillips - DT - Stanford

Donte Jackson - CB - LSU

It remains to be seen if a few intriguing names will drop late enough into the second round to entice the Houston Texans to move up from where they sit in the third round. With all those third-rounders and the extra second-rounder in 2019 they picked up in the Duane Brown trade, the temptation will certainly be there. Personally, I think they still need to throw numbers at the offensive line, so I’d prefer the Texans to stand pat unless they really feel like they have a guy they can’t miss out on.

Feel free to add some names to the best available list. Who if anyone do you feel has a chance to drop to the late second, or even early third?
