Barring an unforeseen trade up back into the seventh round, the Texans have now made their last pick of the 2018 NFL Draft - Jermaine Kelly, cornerback, San Jose State.
Texans draft San Jose State CB Jermaine Kelly in seventh round. He visited the Texans

Kelly came in for a visit with the Texans earlier this month. A former four star recruit out of Los Angeles who started his career at Washington, Kelly transferred back to his home state after two years with the Huskies in order to get more playing time. With a big 6’0”, 196 lb frame and legitimate 4.47 speed, he at least has the physical tools to fight for a roster spot in a beleaguered Texans secondary. Whether or not Kelly will actually make the team is still very much in the air, but as far as I’m concerned no cornerbacks are above replacement right now in Houston.
Jermaine Kelly is definitely a lottery pick, like most seventh-round picks are, but the upside is there. Hopefully this lottery ticket pays off.
