The Film Room: Dalvin Cook Is Arian Foster 2.0

New, comments

The Vikings just found themselves an extremely talented young running back to pick up where Adrian Peterson left off.

As Texans fans, we all have a natural bias towards anything related to Arian Foster. His running style, his pterodactyl screeches, his ‘namaste’ celebrations...anything he did, we loved, because at the end of the day we all loved Arian.

So when I saw the spitting image of Foster’s game on tape this week when studying Dalvin Cook, it made me fall in love all over again. Houston will not have to face off against Cook until 2020, barring meeting him in the Super Bowl before then, but every single Texans fan should still make an effort to watch this kid play in 2018. His smooth cutting style on zone runs, damn-near prophetic vision in traffic, and versatility as a receiver all scream “Arian Foster” every time he touches the ball, and it’s worth it to witness his skillset if only for the flashbacks to Foster’s glory days.

Take a look at Cook for yourself on this week’s episode of The Film Room; and while you’re at it, go watch some Arian Foster highlights on YouTube as well. I’m sure you’re due.
