J.J. Watt To Pay For Santa Fe Victims’ Funerals

The Texans’ defensive end is showing his charitable side again.

By now you’ve undoubtedly heard about the tragedy that happened at Santa Fe High School this morning. I think I speak for all of us at Battle Red Blog when I say our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We hope that none of you have any kids or loved ones who were personally impacted by this senseless act of violence.

However, one does not have to have kids in school to be affected by the Santa Fe shooting. Such is the case for J.J. Watt who, according to Mark Berman, has said that he will personally pay for the funerals for all the victims of this shooting.

Regardless of how you feel about what caused this—and believe me I know we all have rigid cast-iron opinions on that—this not the website to have that argument. Please feel free to take that slapfight to Twitter or Facebook where it belongs.

What is not up for discussion, though, is that between this and Hurricane Harvey, nobody ever gets to say an unkind word about Justin James Watt again. Ever. He could pull a Tony Boselli and never play another down for the rest of his days and I will not hear any slander upon his name. Nor should any of you.
