On Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CDT, the Texans are playing the Chiefs in their first preseason game. It’s the first chance we as fans have to see Whitney Mercilus, J.J. Watt, and Deshaun Watson play since they were all taken away from us last season.
Well, scratch Mercilus off the list. He is out with an undisclosed injury. He hasn’t practiced the past few days. It supposedly isn’t serious. He just won’t play.

Nothing has come out regarding Watt’s status for tomorrow yet. Of course, he wants to play. The word is that he will play in at least one preseason game before the regular season kicks off against the Patriots on September 9th.
Watson, however, should be out there on Thursday night. He has fully recovered from his ACL tear. How long he plays isn’t certain, but yes, finally, Watson will be playing quarterback for the Houston Texans again on Thursday night.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien is more likely that Deshaun Watson will play in preseason opener than not but said plan is still being formulated

Even if it’s only for just a series where they go three and out, I don’t care. Can’t wait!
