New, comments

Here’s what happened around the AAF in Week 6.

CFL: Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Montreal Alouettes Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Salt Lake 22, Memphis 9

Two first quarter touchdowns did the trick on Saturday for the Salt Lake Stallions as they beat the Memphis Express 22-9 in the first contest of the weekend.

Salt Lake also topped off the win with 6.0 total sacks, two each from Karter Schult, Chris Odom and Tenny Palepoi.

Brandon Silvers quarterbacked for now 1-5 Memphis, but the team might be looking to get their fourth QB of the season as the team claimed Johnny Manziel.

Arizona 22, Orlando 17

Orlando took their first loss of the season Saturday night with a loss at home to the Arizona Hotshots.

The running game for the Hotshots was strong. Tim Cook ran for a game-high 71 yards and Jhurell Pressley ran for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Pressley also added a receiving touchdown from nine yards out.

San Antonio 37, Atlanta 6

The Commanders took command of the game early on Sunday afternoon and made easy work of the Atlanta Legends, 37-6.

Commanders QB Logan Woodside threw for a pair of TD’s and 164 yards.

Former Texans DB Kurtis Drummond recorded five tackles in the win.

Birmingham 32, San Diego 29

Nick Novak knocked down a game-winning 44 yard field goal in dramatic fashion as his Birmingham Iron beat the San Diego Fleet 32-29.

L’Damian Washington had a week-high 128 receiving yards and Trent Richardson added a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air.

The win put Birmingham just one game back of Orlando for the Eastern Conference lead.
