Since there isn’t much else to discuss on a dreary Hump Day as Houston Texans fans, let’s all pretend we’re in Brian Gaine’s seat for a little while.
Here’s the first scenario: You have the ability and resources to focus on keeping only one impending free agent on the team for 2019. Vote for which player in the first poll, and then let us know why you made that choice in the comments below.

It’s easy to make an argument for keeping Jadeveon Clowney or Kareem Jackson. Tyrann Mathieu on a team-friendly deal would also be favorable to Houston. Alfred Blue, given a solid offensive line, is also serviceable....right?
To spice it up a little more, here’s the second choice you have to make. Who would you bring in from the outside to bolster the Houston Texans roster?

What player heading for free agency that didn’t play for Houston in 2018 would you sign?

Le’Veon Bell doesn’t exactly first the character mold the Houston Texans target, but without Rick Smith and Bob McNair (RIP) guiding the ship, it’ll be interesting to see if Talent > Character = New Houston Texan becomes an equation for H-Town football.
Earl Thomas, who could do well as a replacement for Tyrann Mathieu, although he has a few more miles under the wheels.
With only a handful of top 30 level offensive linemen on the market, several of them are going to get (over) PAID. Will Houston be one of the teams stroking a big check? Guys like Trent Brown, Ja’Wuan James, and Roger Saffold have to be counting their dollar-shaped chickens right about now.
The cornerback market is a little less encouraging, but the Texans cannot stand pat in this area and hope to get to the next level in 2019. Jason McCourty, Bryce Callahan or Ronald Darby paired with Aaron Colvin, Kareem Jackson and the Texans’ safety corps might be a sizable upgrade over the present crew.
To make it a little more interesting, feel free to order your priorities among these players in the comments section since you can only vote for one in each poll.
