There’s no doubt the Houston Texans’ roster is in need of some upgrades in certain areas. With a gulf of cap space, Houston’s general manager Brian Gaine has a relatively open checkbook to buy some serious talent.
Kansas City Chiefs OLB Dee Ford, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell, Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown and L.A. Rams offensive guard Rodger Saffold all might make for interesting prospects for the Texans to target when the teams are allowed to “tamper” with players on other rosters come March 11th.
Players like Malik Jackson, Desean Jackson, and Robert Quinn may all very well find themselves looking for new employment fairly soon as well, according to the folks over at Bleacher Report.
While offensive line and cornerback are Houston’s biggest priorities, along with re-signing their own impending free agents in Jadeveon Clowney, Kareem Jackson, Tyrann Mathieu, and perhaps a few others, there should still be a crop of players out there Houston can sign to build depth and upgrade several key positions, such as RB2, OLB2 and DT2.
The folks at NFLTradeRumors have a list of their Top 50 free agents, while Bleacher Report has broken it down by top players at each position.
With all those options out there, who do you think the Houston Texans should target this offseason? Give us you free agent wish list below.
