The Houston Texans beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few days ago. There’s analysis on the front page of this site right now discussing that. Click on those stories. Read them. The Texans just won another AFC South Championship after naysayers, haters, and losers like me didn’t think they will. People like me underestimated Deshaun Watson and Romeo Crennel. Bill O’Brien developed a great game plan to attack teams with bad linebackers. The schedule wasn’t as treacherous as it looked to be in August. Houston went 8-3 in one score games. All of this is great and beautiful. What a wonderful gift indeed.
This weekend, Houston closes out their regular season by hosting the Titans in a meaningless game for the home team unless the Chiefs lose to the Chargers earlier in the day, which probably won’t happen; if it does happen, the Texans can jump the Chiefs for the third seed with a win and then host the Steelers or the Raiders in the first round of the AFC Playoffs instead. Otherwise, the Texans will host the Bills next weekend in the Wild Card Round.
All of this is just to say we’re going to enjoy today and tomorrow here at BRB. Snuggle up with friends and family. Savor the holidays. We’ll go a little quiet and be back on Friday to preview the Titans game.
In the meantime, from all of us here at BRB, may you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic holiday season.
