Alfred Blue Needs A Change Of Scenery

You can’t make this up.

ESPN picked free agents who need a new place to live their best life, find their true self, and all those things the internet tells you that just end up making you feel worse about yourself. The Texans’ selection was Alfred Blue. You can’t make this up. I mean, what are we even doing here?

RB Alfred Blue. The running back is headed to free agency after playing in all 16 games for just the second time in his five-year career. Lamar Miller, the primary back, had 60 more rushing attempts than Blue, despite playing two fewer games. A fresh start might give Blue a better chance to be a team’s featured running back. -- Turron Davenport

Alfred Blue had 150 carries last year. He shouldn’t have had 15. Blue averaged 3.3 yards a carry. He had a DVOA of -23.2% and a DYAR of -94, both of which were 44th out of 47 eligible running backs. The running back who had 60 more rushing attempts than Blue (Lamar Miller) averaged 1.3 more yards a carry in the same offense; he finished 27th and 28th in the same metrics.

So, yes, in a sense Blue needs a change of scenery. A fresh start. He shouldn’t remain in Houston. Oh, please let this happen.

Blue’s new home should be in San Antonio, San Diego, Birmingham, Memphis, Orlando, Salt Lake, Atlanta, or Tempe.
