Following veteran minicamp Deshaun Watson talked about the Texans’ offense as they head into training camp. The Texans’ team site had some nice and fuzzy quotes from Watson regarding this offense as it rolls into 2019.
Whoever is touching the ball on each possession can make something happen. We’re all confident that we’re going to be on the same page, great chemistry, have some fun and try to light up the scoreboard as much as we can.”
I feel like I’m ahead of where I was, of course, last year. Just decision making, operation of the offense, being able to do things that I couldn’t do a year before and definitely my rookie year. Being able to take control and take leadership of this offense and be able to get the young guys lined up, make sure the protection is right, make sure the ball is getting placed in the right direction or where the ball needs to be versus this coverage. It’s been a great camp and we’re just trying to continue to improve and make this offense go.
This year Bill O’Brien will call the plays once again, Tim Kelly will be the offensive coordinator, Carl Smith will be the quarterback coach; Will Fuller V, D’Onta Foreman, and Keke Coutee will be healthy, the Jordan twins are a year older, Kahale Warring is going to be badkittenkitten (MEOW), and the pass defense will probably give up a lot of points to great passing offenses meaning the offense will actually have to score points this year.
I like it. It’s good and fuzzy. This offense should be 2017 rookie year Watson fun to watch once again.
