DeAndre Hopkins, J.J. Watt, and DeAndre Carter Placed on Active/Physically Unable To Perform List

Camps are close to session. Some verdicts came in.

NFL: SEP 23 Giants at Texans

The Houston Texans training camp will open up this Thursday. Everyone will be there. Well everyone except for Jadeveon Clowney who still doesn’t have a contract. J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins, and DeAndre Carter will be there too, except they won’t be participating just yet. All three were placed on the active/physically unable to perform list yesterday. These players can be taken off the list and start practicing at any point during camp.

Watt had cleanup surgery on his knee after Houston’s loss to Indianapolis in the playoffs. Hopkins had ligaments falling off the bone like a crock pot dinner after last season. This shouldn’t alarm you. Just think of it as two great professional football players who need a little bit more time to recover before they play meaningless football. I don’t think either really needs to practice ever again at this point of their career. Carter, well, ugh I don’t really know. He’s trying to fit in with Will Fuller V and Keke Coutee or something.

They also placed Jamal Davis, Walter Palmore, and Kahale Warring on the active/non-football injury list. It’s the same thing as PUP, just a different designation. All three can start practicing whenever they are able to.

Hopefully Warring comes back soon, and challenges the Jordan twins to start right away in 2019.

That’s it. There’s no other news as the Texans get ready for training camp 2019.
