By 3 p.m. CDT tomorrow, all 32 NFL teams have to trim their respective rosters to 53 players. With the Texans’ final exhibition game of the preseason mercifully coming to an last night at NRG Stadium, news of which players won’t make the team often starts leaking out today. To that end, BRB’s Roster Cuts Tracker makes its triumphant annual return.
As we move toward tomorrow afternoon’s deadline, you can follow the Texans’ cuts in this post. We’ll update it as the cuts are announced by reliable reporters and the initial 53-man roster gets finalized for the 2019 regular season.
UPDATE: News of Texans cuts has started to circulate. Jermaine Ponder, Gimel President, Jamal Davis, Javier Edwards, Josh Ferguson, Bryan Anger, and Jordan Ta’amu have all been released.

UPDATE VI: Signed less than a week ago, Chrisitan DiLauro has seen his time in Houston come to an end.

UPDATE VII: Although there’s a slightly bigger Texans-related story that’s stolen the headlines this morning, the team does still have to get down to 53 players by 3 p.m. today. One of the players who won’t make the roster was a third-round pick of this team just a year ago. The fact that he’s an offensive lineman on a team with a terrible offensive line merely underscores the absurdity of what’s become the norm at NRG Park. Martinas Rankin now finds himself unemployed.

Austin Exford has also been released.

UPDATE VIII: Mark Berman has the most comprehensive list I’ve seen of who’s been cut. Names of note who the Texans have released that weren’t mentioned above—Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Damarea Crockett, Johnnie Dixon, Joel Heath, Karan Higdon Jr., Vyncint Smith, and Jester Weah.
