The Texans and Panthers are all set to play some gosh darn football here in a second. Before that happens, each team has released their inactives for today’s game. The following players won’t play for Houston:

DE Charles Omenihu is inactive for the Texans against the Panthers. Other inactives: T Seantrel Henderson, TE Jerell Adams, TE Logan Paulsen, ILB Tyrell Adams, CB Xavier Crawford and QB Alex McGough.

None of this is really unexpected. Carlos Watkins has been phased out of the defensive line rotation for over a year now. Seantrel Henderson has been replaced by Roderick Johnson and is sick. The Texans have too many tight ends. Charles Omenihu being a bullpen bullrusher will be missed though. As a fresh head on rusher he’s been able to disrupt dropbacks.
On Carolina’s end, things are different. They are facing numerous vital injuries.
Cam Newton, Kawann Short, Trai Turner, and Donte Jackson are all out for today’s game.
#Panthers inactives today:

QB Cam Newton
DT Kawann Short
WR Brandon Zylstra
LB Jordan Kunaszyk
G Trai Turner
CB Donte Jackson
OL Bryan Witzmann
That’s four of their starters, and these aren’t fringe starters as well, either these are vital players for Carolina.
The Texans not only have home field advantage, but a health advantage as well entering this one.
