2020 NFL Draft: Which Prospects Have Visited The Texans?

New, comments

Eyeing who the Texans are chatting up before the draft starts on Thursday night.

NCAA Football: Senior Bowl-South Practice Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

In a draft with no Pro Days and very few face-to-face visits, teams are going to opt for players they have familiarity with. Instead of taking a chance on a guy from a small school or a guy with one year of production, NFL teams seem likely to choose players who are safer. That could mean a low-floor/high ceiling draft will soon be upon us, but one major asset for the Houston Texans in that regard is their three seventh-round picks. That means they’ll be able to lock in three high priority undrafted free agents uncontested.

With this draft day phenomena set to occur, it’s imperative we become aware of who the Texans have taken a closer look at before the draft begins. For instance, last year, the Texans met with Tytus Howard, their eventual first round pick, at both the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine. The Texans love their Senior Bowl prospects, maybe more than they should.

I’m going to try to assign the prospects by what day in the draft they’re likely to go. Below is a legend for the type of visit. If you see a (KL) by their name, that means I like the player and think the Texans are likely to select them if the opportunity presents itself.
