By Wednesday, we will probably already know where the BIG names have gone. Tom Brady, Jadeveon Clowney, D.J. Reader, Philip Rivers, Amari Cooper, Chris Harris Jr., Byron Jones, Shaquil Barrett, Arik Armstead, Anthony Harris, and others...word of their new homes should leak out in the next 48 hours. The first two days move fast; that’s when the name free agents are usually snapped up.
Over the next two days, we should expect the Texans to improve their 26th pass defense by DVOA and the 32nd short pass defense by yards per attempt.
This is your open thread to follow the first day of the legal tampering period. It will be updated throughout the proceedings. Please place whatever news or credible reports you find in the comments below.
Happy New Year, everyone.
Update (11:43 a.m.): DeAndre Hopkins maybe, could be, quite possibly be available and Houston is calling the Cardinals about David Johnson.

Re my Hopkins note, this is what I wrote:

It might be just pre-draft chatter, but 2 teams told me to watch Houston and DeAndre Hopkins, who has 3 years and a reasonable $40-million left on his contract and who'd cause only a $3m cap hit if traded ... https://t.co/Qkk45VBwyg
Texans exploring trade options, including Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson, according to league sources. One of four teams interested in him
