The Texans’ neverending nightmare from 2019 is continuing into 2020. As expected, Will Fuller V is out of today’s game because of a groin injury he sustained in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Houston is an entirely different pass offense with Fuller in the lineup and today, they really could have used him against one of the five best pass defenses in the NFL.
Here’s who won’t be playing for Houston.
Johnathan Joseph is surprising. I guess Houston is more comfortable with Bradley Roby, Vernon Hargreaves III, Gareon Conley, and Lonnie Johnson Jr. Jahleel Addae is active. It will be interesting to see if he’ll play strong safety or free safety since Tashaun Gipson is on Injured Reserve. Keke Coutee and Jordan Thomas are out of the doghouse because of injuries to Fuller and Jordan Akins. Houston needs to utilize every pass catcher they have active.
Here’s who won’t be playing for Buffalo.
Levi Wallace is BIG. Buffalo’s second cornerback won’t be out there playing one sideline. The Bills will either use former Houston Texans first round pick Kevin Johnson or Taron Johnson to play the sideline—it will probably be Kevin. Expect for the other to play the nickel. Robert Foster has been a decent component of their communal passing attack, and T.J. Yeldon hasn’t played much this season. Duke Williams should fill in nicely.
Ty Nsekhe is Active. He usually splits time with Cody Ford, and if Ford can’t pass protect against Jacob Martin and J.J. Watt, get ready for a lot more Nsekhe.
The Texans and Bills are set to kickoff at 3:35 p.m.
