2020 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper 4.0

Defense, defense, defense.

It’s another mock draft. Praise be these things have gone to two rounds so that we in this Houston Texans world are able to hang out and be mentioned. Enjoy it while you can. Next year will be different.

Timmy Jernigan and Eric Murray aren’t enough to improve a bad pass defense. The second round should be all about the pass defense. Mel Kiper agrees. He has the Texans selecting:

40. Houston Texans (from ARI)

A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa | Highlights

Epenesa has first-round tape, but he’s not going to be for every team. He’s not a quick-twitch edge rusher; in fact, at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds, he might be better at end in a 3-4 in the NFL. Still, I trust the tape, and I don’t think he’ll drop out of the first 40 picks. He’d get to learn the tricks of the trade from J.J. Watt in Houston.

What do you think? Do you like it? Would you be good with Houston grabbing Epenesa in Round Two?
