The Texans had the 26th ranked pass defense by DVOA last season. Their pass rush fell apart once J.J. Watt got hurt. Tonight they used Pick #40 to select Ross Blacklock, an interior defender from TCU, and they followed it up by taking Jonathan Greenard, a DE/OLB from Florida.

Texans Thoughts had these thoughts before the draft:
#Texans #3 EDGE Draft Target should be Jonathan Greenard: 6'3, 263 from Florida. Greenard is a good athlete, he rushes with a plan and is a strong run defender. He needs technical refinement and to finish plays better but he has tons of potential. Round 3 target
