Yesterday, Reliant and Deshaun Watson teamed up to donate $175,000 to provide computers for students in need.

Reliant put forward $150,000 and The Deshaun Watson Foundation provided an additional $25,000. With this donation, Comp-U-Dopt was able to provide 500 desktops for Houston area students. With the virtualization of some classrooms around the country, children will need computers to access their classes. There are still many households that don’t have computer or internet access.
Here was the criteria for the donations:
“The recipients of these desktops are families living at or below the poverty line who do not have a computer in their home and 83% are from households earning less than $50,000 annually with more than four people in the home.”
This is far from the first time that Deshaun Watson has given to the less fortunate. Earlier this year, Watson donated to Lee Initiative’s Restaurant Worker’s Relief Program, which provides meals to service workers affected by the pandemic. There was also the time that DW4 donated his first game check to three Texans employees that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Given Watson’s background, he knows how to empathize with people. Texans fans are spoiled having not just an Uber-talented superstar leading their franchise, but a man with a heart of gold to boot.
If DW4 can do this on a rookie contract, imagine what he’ll do when O’Brien finally decides to PAY THE MAN? Will we see a Deshaun Watson versus J.J. Watt ‘Who can outgive’ battle royale? Might Whitney Mercilus and Andre Johnson tag in? No matter what happens, it can only be good for the kids and families of H-Town. #GOTEXANS!
