On Monday, your Houston Texans added some new players to their practice squad. Wide receiver and former Pro Bowl returner Dwayne Harris and wide receiver Devin Smith have the chance to show their stuff on the taxi squad in an effort to later earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

In a corresponding move, the team released wide receiver Tyler Simmons from the practice squad.
Harris, a former member of the Cowboys and Giants, has been a prolific kick and punt returner. Voted to the Pro Bowl in 2016, he has since experienced some injury issues, but Harris could potentially provide value as a returner if he can stay healthy.
Smith is a former Jets second-round draft pick with significant injury issues. Since being drafted out of Ohio State in 2015, Smith has landed on his respective team’s IR almost every year.
Are any of these new guys going to push for DeAndre Carter or Keke Coutee’s job? Probably not. However, depth at wide receiver can't be understated with the track record of our current group.
