By 3 p.m. CDT today, every NFL team must whittle their respective rosters to 53 players. The Texans cut three players earlier this week, and those gentlemen will soon be joined by hundreds more as organizations across the league decide who will and won’t be on their Week One squad. Assuming the Texans follows their M.O. from seasons past, I expect word of who Bill O’Brien has asked to turn in their playbook will start leaking throughout the day. To that end, BRB’s Roster Cuts Tracker makes its triumphant annual return.
As we march toward tomorrow afternoon’s deadline, you can follow the Texans’ cuts in this post. We’ll update it as the cuts are announced by reliable reporters and the initial 53-man roster gets finalized for the 2020 regular season.
UPDATE: Here we go...
Texans have negotiated a multiple-week injury settlement, waived-injured rookie tight end Dylan Stapleton, per a league source. Stapleton has a fractured shoulder. Expected to be out a few months

UPDATE IX: The Texans will reportedly sign former Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise to their practice squad. The team brought Prosise in for a workout yesterday, so it presumably went well.
The #Texans are signing FA RB CJ Prosise to their practice squad, source said, a smart move for Houston given the new PS rules.

UPDATE X: Rick Leonard has been waived, according to his agent. That agent says we could see Leonard back on the practice squad as soon as tomorrow.

— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) September 5, 2020
UPDATE XIX: Not a roster cut, but it looks like Cornell Armstrong has locked in a spot at the corner position. With Philip Gaines potentially landing on IR, we’re looking at one of our last backup corners.
Congrats to my client Cornell Armstrong on earning a spot on the Houston Texans roster. Talented young corner has continued improving every year.
— Brett Tessler (@TesslerSports) September 5, 2020
UPDATE XX: It looks like Keke Coutee is going to make the final roster. Interestingly, Brent Qvale’s contract was terminated, but reportedly it’s likely that he’ll be re-signed.
