The NFL landscape will spend its time talking, talking, talking about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick this week. Tom left New England for Tampa Bay after a messy divorce, with various teams allegedly turning down his services. Entropy went too far. Brady signed with the Bucs and proved their roster was really a quarterback away, leading them to a Super Bowl. The Patriots were on fire with Cam Newton to start the 2020 season, but his body and his arm quickly flailed. New England’s run defense, atrocious. Their pass defense, mediocre. After finally missing the NFL Playoffs, resentful of what happened in Tompa Bay, the Patriots went all in this offseason. A horde of signings, a new quarterback, doing things they never used to do. But, see, we are real football men, talking about real football, instead of engaging in the gossip and the drama. It’s PEOPLE magazine. It isn’t football.
On this episode of Battle Red Radio, Matt Weston and his good friend Taylor preview Week Four of the 2021 NFL season. Topics include the grace and light of Josh Allen, if Davis Mills will survive another week, taking back what was said about Dakary, whether Carolina’s defense is real or if it’s made of sand, Teddy Bridgewater’s Quarterback Club, still feeling lukewarm about the Baltimore Ravens, putting Kyler Murray MVP talks into the buzz saw, and the Los Angeles juggernaut.
