It seemed like it couldn’t get worse than the beating that was provided to us by the Buffalo Bills. But in true Texans fashion, there is always a new low. For three full quarters, it was an absolute kitten-show. Houston’s offense had nothing going on, and the defense just wasn’t there to play. The Rams dominated in all aspects. It may as well have been a second BYE week for the visiting team. However, Los Angeles threw in their backups for the fourth quarter and some Texans salvaged their fantasy performances.

Week Eight: (Texans vs. Rams)

QB: Davis Mills - 29/38, 310 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT = 20.4 points

RB: David Johnson - 2 carries, 4 yards, 1 reception, -1 yards receiving = 1.3 points

RB:Rex Burkhead - 4 carries, 21 yards rushing, 3 catches, 27 yards receiving, 1 TD = 13.8 points

RB: Philip Lindsay - 3 carries,8 yards rushing = 0.8 points

RB: Scottie Phillips- 5 carries, 11 yards rushing, 2 catches, 9 yards receiving = 4 Points

WR: Brandin Cooks - 6 receptions, 83 yards, 1 TD = 20.3 points

WR: Chris Moore - 2 receptions, 16 yards = 3.6 points

WR: Chris Conley - 1 reception, 24 yards = 3.4 points

WR: Nico Collins - 4 receptions, 55 yards = 9.5 points

WR: Danny Amendola- 2 receptions, 3 yards = 2.3 points

TE: Jordan Akins - 5 receptions, 53 yards = 10.3 points

TE: Brevin Jordan - 3 receptions, 41 yards, 1 TD = 13.1 points

K: Ka’imi Fairbairn - 0/1 FG. 2/2 XP = 2 points

DEF: 2 TFL, 1 sack, 38 points allowed = -3 points

Davis Mills had a rotten afternoon, but a few garbage time touchdowns boosted his fantasy numbers. Brandin Cooks and Brevin Jordan were beneficiaries in the passing game as a result. Nico Collins getting some targets is encouraging, as Danny Amendola took a backseat this week.

Rex Burkhead led the pack in points from the running back position, thanks to a touchdown and multiple receptions. Again, this committee is far too volatile to invest in any player at this point. However, Scottie Phillips getting touches is a positive sign; we can hopefully see him get a larger workload moving forward.

Ka’imi Fairbairn missed a field goal but was perfect on extra points. Top three kicker money, y’all! Houston’s defense ended up in the red, as they allowed far too many points and forced no turnovers this week.

With the Texans taking on the Dolphins this week, we could see an uptick in fantasy production from the offense. The defense could be a good play if you’re late to the waiver wire.
