Front office personnel and executives have seeped out from the Houston Texans since Nick Caserio became the general manager of the team last month. Foot, meet Bill O’Brien’s bucket of water. The purge continued yesterday when the Texans released three more front office members. Assistant Director of Pro Personnel C.J. Leak, area scout Ryan Cavanaugh, and pro scout Steven Price have all been let go from the organization.

This sort of thing is typical. A new regime brings in new personnel. Everything from the pool boy to the roach killer, from an assistant scouting executive to a local scout, what was old is removed to make room for the new so the culture can be recalibrated and the new GM’s guys can get in the building.
None of this is unexpected. It’s part of the natural order of things. Yet with the current narrative, that the Texans are a bunch of bible-humping idiots, it will continue to fall in line with this same thinking. Additionally, it’s reasonable to expect more firings like this to continue as Caserio tries to build the Texans to his liking.
