That Nick Caserio. Man, he never stops working. He’s always going, going, going. Whether it’s signing another linebacker or releasing someone you held close to your heart praying he would become a fifth wide receiver for the Texans in the future, Caserio is always on the move. Yesterday, he cut two Texans.
Texans released Beau Benzschawel and Steven Mitchell

Yes, the Texans released Steven Mitchell and Beau Benzschawel. Mitchell is an undrafted wide receiver from USC who caught on and stuck with Houston after being waived and signed over and over again. He started a game last year for the Texans, same as he did in 2019, and last year he caught 5 passes for 60 yards. With Andre Roberts, Chris Conley, Alex Erickson, and Chris Moore on the roster, Mitchell is back on waivers.
Houston also cut center Beau Benzchawel. The undrafted guard from Wisconsin came to Houston from Detroit and played seven special teams snaps in Houston, up one from the six he played in Detroit in 2019. He’ll be left to find work somewhere else where he can watch the field goal go over his head.
Both releases give Houston more roster spots ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft and what should be a ravenous undrafted rookie free agent signing period.
