This Week’s Poll: Where Does Your Houston Texans Hope Live?

Are you hanging your helmet on something to get by?

With so little positive news to report coming out of NRG Stadium, what’s a Texans fan to do? Switch teams? Take up guitar playing or some other hobby?

Or just suck it up, rub some dirt on it, walk it off and deal?

Pro football is supposed to offer a reprieve from our every day grind; a distraction from the stress of life.

Sadly, the Houston Texans have been adding to it more than subtracting lately.

But, hope springs eternal.

Or we can just abandon it entirely.

There are some things we can lean into for our instinctual desire for better days, however.

The outlook of a positive Houston Texans fan

Nick Caserio. He was one of the hot general manager candidates and has been for years – and he’s all ours, restrictions apply. While he has yet to do much on the impressive scale, He did inherit a mess and hasn’t had a ton of time to right the ship.

Young players. Justin Reid, Nico Collins, Charles Omenihu. There are a few young players on the roster who could rise up and become NFL superstars some day. Hopefully, the ones that do are still Texans when they arrive.

Wily veterans. With the historic influx of veteran free agents, there might be one or more of these wily vets who reinvent themselves in H-Town and become Sportscenter stars.

Head coach. David Culley? He’s never been “the man” ever not once. He’s not been an NFL coordinator, and quite honestly, his last few gigs produced less than promising results. But, there’s a first for everything... Maybe he and McEasterby can do a motivational speaker start up...

Coaching staff. Tim Kelly, Lovie Smith, Miles Smith, James Campen and a few others. Kelly, without Bill O’Brien’s overlording has his first chance to be his own man. Lovie can reinvent himself. Miles can step out of dad’s shadow. Campen be the first line coach in years to actually develop an o-lineman.

So, in this week’s poll hat trick, where are you hanging your deep steel blue helmet? Or did you throw it down, stomp on it, then set it on fire?

What gives you hope for the Texans future?
