Stridex pads and deep balls. Kermit the Frog. My Chemical Romance eyeliner. Two gloves. The AFC West is the best division in football. It’s Justin Herbert’s sherbert as the Chargers attempt to be the next team to ride a quarterback’s rookie contract to the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes is now a family guy, and he’s still the best quarterback in the league. Skin was taken off the offensive line and sewn onto the Las Vegas defense to claw the Raiders back from the depths to mediocrity, and it will be up to Derek Carr to navigate these choppier waters. And the Broncos, who have had the worst quarterback play in the NFL since Peyton Manning sold his soul in 2016, will try to find even alright in Teddy Bridgewater.

On this episode of Battle Red Radio, Matt Weston and his good friend Taylor preview the AFC West. Topics include the newest iteration of the no fly zone, Noah Fant’s breakout season, possible Kansas City regression, the decision to go all in to protect Mahomes, Herbert improving on an all-time rookie season, the unknown Los Angeles defense, Mike Mayock’s defensive failings, and if Vegas can get out from the muck.

Let’s start the show.
