In a 37-21 beatdown, the Texans came out of Week One relatively unscathed, save one major injury. Free agent signee Vincent Taylor had a great preseason, consistently pushing the pocket and holding down the interior of the opposing run game. Late in the triumph over the Jaguars, Taylor was on the ground, holding his ankle, and was eventually carted off.
Unfortunately, Taylor will require ankle surgery and is headed to Injured Reserve He will be out for the next six to eight weeks.

The Lord taketh and the Lord giveth. Although Houston lost Taylor for the next couple of months, slot wide receiver Anthony Miller is scheduled to return against Cleveland this week.

Miller hurt his shoulder in Houston’s first preseason game against Green Bay. The Texans will have to figure out the rest of their roster with Miller’s return. Will they carry six wide receivers? Will they bench Danny Amendola for Miller? We’ll find out before kickoff this Sunday.
Houston also worked out a wide variety of players yesterday, including local favorite Donte Moncrief.
Texans worked out Donte Moncrief, Grayland Arnold, Jake Eldrenkamp, Sharif Finch, Josh Mauro, Jason Stowbridge
