Here’s your newest batch of Houston Texans injury news following Houston’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Texans’ highly paid kicker, Ka’imi Fairbairn, started the 2021 season off on Injured Reserve with a groin injury, leading to Justin Reid kicking off in a preseason game. In Fairbairn’s place to start the year was former Panthers kicker Joey Slye. But Fairbairn is expected to return from the IR this week and take back his rightful throne.
Texans to activate Ka'imi Fairbairn, safety A.J. Moore ((returned to practice, designated for return from IR); Justin Reid 'headed in right direction' @SportsTalk790 @iHeartRadio https://t.co/qZnEtRV6E2

The Texans had also been without third safety A.J. Moore. Houston has been running with Reid and Eric Murray has their two high safeties, with Lonnie Johnson Jr. watching from the sideline. Last week, with Reid out, Johnson played single high way out in Siberia. Houston will get Moore back this week too.
Reid was expected to play last Thursday but suffered a setback before the game and sat out Thursday Night Football. Head coach David Culley claims Reid is heading in the right direction, which means Houston may get Reid back as early as this Sunday against Buffalo. Both Reid and Kamu Gruiger-Hill will be evaluated on Wednesday.
That’s it. There you have it. There’s the latest injury news as we move toward this week’s game against Buffalo.
